AI receptionist for plumbers. Always answered.
After-hours triage. Job booked while you sleep.
"Hi, you've reached Northside Plumbing. What's happening, and is it urgent?"
Why it matters
Why plumbers use an AI receptionist.
When a pipe bursts at 2am, the plumber who answers gets the job. An AI receptionist for plumbers answers every call you forward to it, around the clock, in a natural Australian voice, and books the job into your calendar while the caller is still on the line.
It works out whether the call is a burst pipe, a blocked drain, a leaking hot water system or a quote for a bathroom renovation, and how urgent it is. Urgent jobs go to the top of your list, and you get a written summary of every call, so you can plan the day without listening to voicemail.

Everything they handle for you.
The calls you get
What callers ring plumbers about.
Burst pipes and leaks
It takes the address, where the water is coming from and whether the caller can turn off the water, then marks the job urgent and books the first free time inside your hours.
Blocked drains and toilets
It finds out which fixture is blocked and whether it is backing up, books the visit and confirms by text and email with a calendar invite and reschedule link.
Hot water system problems
No hot water, a leaking unit or a replacement enquiry is captured with the system type if the caller knows it. Replacement prices come only from your own price list.
Renovation and new-work quotes
Bathroom and kitchen jobs are scoped on the call and booked in for a measure-up. You build the quote in your portal; the customer accepts online and it becomes the invoice automatically.
After hours
What happens when you're closed.
After hours, it keeps answering. It marks burst pipes and flooding as urgent and books into the first free time inside the booking hours you set, with at least an hour's notice, so if you run an after-hours emergency service, include those hours. There is no instant text alert to your mobile for urgent calls; you get an email summary the moment the call ends and the job sits at the top of your lead list.
What usually marks a call as urgent
- Water coming through a ceiling or flooding a room
- A burst or split pipe
- Sewage backing up into the house
- No water at all
Illustrative call
What a call could sound like.
An illustrative example written for this page: not a recording, and not a real customer.
- CallerThere's water pouring out from under my kitchen sink and I can't stop it.
- AI receptionistLet's get someone out to you. Have you been able to turn the water off at the mains?
- CallerYes, just now. But the cupboard's soaked.
- AI receptionistGood, that helps. The first available time is 7am. What's the address?
- Caller22 Harbour Road.
- AI receptionistYou're booked for 7am. I've marked this urgent and you'll get a confirmation by text and email.
Good to know
What it will and won't do.
- It only books jobs inside the area you cover. Callers outside it are told politely and their details are still saved.
- It won't promise an arrival time it can't keep: bookings are made into real free time in your calendar.
- Follow-up texts only go out 8am to 8pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, never Sundays or public holidays.

Questions
Common questions from plumbers.
Can an AI receptionist really handle emergency plumbing calls?
It answers them, works out how urgent they are and books the job into your calendar inside the booking hours you set. Urgent calls go to the top of your lead list with an email summary. If you offer after-hours call-outs, include those hours so it can book them.
Will it tell customers how much a blocked drain costs?
Only if that price is in your own price list. It never invents a number; otherwise it explains the job needs a look and books the visit or a callback.
What if a caller hangs up before booking?
Once your business SMS number is set up, they get a friendly text within seconds and the conversation continues by SMS, so the lead does not go cold.
Can I see what was said on each call?
Yes. Every call is written up as a summary in your portal, and every booking, text and lead is logged, so you can check exactly what was promised.
Does it work with my existing plumbing business number?
Yes. You forward your existing number to your Velobiz number using the codes the portal gives you for your carrier, on no-answer, when busy or for every call.
