Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 1 November 2026

Draft pending legal review. This describes what you may and may not do with Velobiz. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and will be replaced by a reviewed version before general release. Questions in the meantime: hello@velobiz.com.au.

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to you, to anyone you let use your account, and to everything your AI employee does on your behalf. You are responsible for all of it.

1. Contacting people lawfully

You agree not to use Velobiz to:

  • send commercial messages without consent, without clearly identifying the sender, or without a working way to unsubscribe, as the Spam Act 2003 requires;
  • contact people who have opted out, or call numbers on the Do Not Call Register where the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 prohibits it, or call outside the hours or without the identification that the Telecommunications (Telemarketing and Research Calls) Industry Standard 2017 requires;
  • collect, use or disclose personal information in a way that breaks the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Our platform records consent and honours opt-outs, but the legal obligation to contact people lawfully is yours.

2. Call recording

Calls handled by your AI employee are recorded so we can produce your written call summary. State and territory surveillance and listening-device laws require callers to be told. Our default greeting tells callers they're speaking with an AI assistant and that calls are recorded. If you write your own greeting you must keep both disclosures.

3. Being honest about the AI

You agree not to:

  • present your AI employee as a human, or set it up to claim to be one;
  • use it to deceive or mislead people, or to impersonate another business or person;
  • remove or change its greeting so callers are no longer told it is an AI assistant.

More on how our AI behaves is in the AI Use Policy.

4. People

You agree not to use Velobiz to discriminate against, harass, threaten or abuse anyone, including in ways that break anti-discrimination laws.

5. Data you must not put into Velobiz

  • Payment cards and credentials. Don't handle payment card data, or passwords and other credential data.
  • Clinical records. Healthcare practices may use Velobiz for appointments, contact details and messages, but not for clinical records, diagnoses or treatment notes. Don't send health information beyond what booking needs.

6. Content and other people's rights

  • Don't use Velobiz for anything unlawful, or to infringe anyone's rights, including copyright and trade marks.
  • Only give us a website address that you own or are entitled to let us read. Don't use Velobiz to scrape or copy sites you aren't entitled to, or to get around logins, paywalls or access controls.

7. The platform

  • Don't probe, overload or interfere with the platform or the networks behind it.
  • Don't try to access another customer's account or data.
  • Don't resell Velobiz, or offer it to others under your own brand, without our written agreement.

8. What happens if this policy is broken

We'll usually tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it. We may suspend an account straight away where there's a serious risk of harm to people, or where continuing would break the law. Ending an agreement is covered by the Terms of Service.

9. Reporting abuse

If you think Velobiz is being misused, or you've received a message or call from a Velobiz customer that you think breaks these rules, email hello@velobiz.com.au.
